Work has ramped up on High Speed 2's (HS2's) 700m long cut and cover tunnel at Burton Green in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, with the completion of the southern portal entrance and tunnel construction 50% done.
The final part of High Speed 2’s (HS2’s) “green tunnel” at Burton Green in Warwickshire has been granted planning permission by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
The Skanska, Costain and Strabag joint venture, together with subcontractor Kilnbridge, has completed works on the HS2 Copthall cut and cover tunnel’s western portal, including excavation and piling.
Quality assurance tests are being carried out on precast segments used to build HS2’s Chipping Warden cut and cover tunnel after quality issues with some of the segments were identified.
